First Set Finished!

I'm so in love with this set. It's the first tester I've finished, and it really put me in the holiday spirit. I was just bummed that it's such a rainy day! I really wanted to play with these outside and get some great shots, but this will have to do!

How to measure for longies.

So, I didn't realize this, but there are a lot of mamas out there that don't know how to measure their little one for longies. It's something easy that any mama with a tape measure can do to insure a great fit for thier little one.

First, you do the waist measurement:

Starting at the belly button, go around the smallest part of the trunk.

Next comes the hips. When picking a size, it is best to fit to the hip measurement.

While wearing the largest diaper owned, measure around the widest part of the hips.

Finally, measure for the rise.

Starting at the belly button, measure down, between the legs and back up to the point on the back that is parallel with the bellybutton. It helps to imagine a line running straight into the belly button and coming out the other side.

And Whola! You've measured your baby for longies!

Testing OPEN!

I'm so excited to open up the first round of testing for my hand-knitted longies, shorties, and capris on Diaper Swappers. For the first round, I'll be doing sizes newborn-medium.

To be honest, testing scares the be-jesus out of me. It's not that I'm worried that I don't have a great product, because everyone who has ever seen them says they are adorable. I'm more scared of being compared to the other fantastic knitters out there and trying to stand among them. But the best way to beat fear is to step out and try, and that's what testing is to me. Putting myself out there and seeing the reaction, good or bad.

Starting Up

Hi-Ya!

I'm Amanda, creator of Fantastisch Knitwear! Thanks for stopping by.

I thought I'd give you all a little background on me and why I'm starting this business. While stationed in Germany with my husband and two boys, I started cloth diapering my youngest son and noticed all the adorable knitwear. Unfortunately for me, my soldier's salary couldn't cover the cost of such things. So I taught myself to knit, and I've been knitting non-stop ever since. And since there's only so many woolies that my little one can wear, Fantastisch Knitwear was born!

Right now, I'm planning a few rounds of testing, and I look forward to launching around March. For info on how to apply to be one of my testers, shoot me an email at knitfantastisch@yahoo.com
